Collect
Almighty God, you search us and know us: may we rely on you in strength and rest on you in weakness, now and in all our days; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Intercessions Lord, take us by the hand: and lead us.
In your prayers this week could you pray for our five overseas partner Dioceses especially today the Diocese of El Camino Real and for Churches Together, Dursley Methodist.
Post Communion
God our creator, you feed your children with the true manna, the living bread from heaven: let this holy food sustain us through our earthly pilgrimage until we come to that place where hunger and thirst are no more; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
O worship the king
O worship the king all glorious above; O gratefully sing his pow’r and his love: our shield and defender, the Ancient of Days, pavilioned in splendour, and girded with praise.
O tell of his might, O sing of his grace, whose robe is the light, whose canopy space; his chariots of wrath the deep thunder-clouds form, and dark in his path on the wings of the storm.
This earth, with its store of wonders untold, almighty, thy pow’r hath founded of old: hath stablished it fast by a changeless decree, and round it hath cast, like a mantle, the sea.
Thy bountiful care what tongue can recite? It breathes in the air, it shines in the light; it streams from the hills, it descends to the plain, and sweetly distils in the dew and the rain.
Frail children of dust, and feeble as frail, in thee do we trust, nor find thee to fail; thy mercies how tender, how firm to the end! Our maker, defender, redeemer, and friend.
O measureless might, ineffable love, while angels delight to hymn thee above, thy humbler creation, though feeble their lays, with true adoration shall sing to thy praise. Gospel Reading – Matthew 18 v15-20 Reproving Another Who Sins15 “If another member of the church sins against you, go and point out the fault when the two of you are alone. If the member listens to you, you have regained that one. 16 But if you are not listened to, take one or two others along with you, so that every word may be confirmed by the evidence of two or three witnesses. 17 If the member refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if the offender refuses to listen even to the church, let such a one be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector. 18 Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. 19 Again, truly I tell you, if two of you agree on earth about anything you ask, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them.”
This is the gospel of the Lord. All Praise to you O Christ
Praise to the Lord
Praise to the lord, the Almighty, the King of creation! O my soul, praise him, for he is thy health and salvation. All ye who hear, now to his temple draw near; joining in glad adoration.
Praise to the Lord, who o’er all things so wondrously reigneth, shieldeth thee gently from harm, or when fainting sustaineth: hast thou not seen how thy heart’s wishes have been granted in what he ordaineth?
Praise to the Lord, who doth prosper thy work and defend thee, surely his goodness and mercy shall daily attend thee: ponder anew what the Almighty can do, if to the end he befriend thee.
Praise to the Lord, O let all that is in us adore him! All that hath life and breath, come now with praises before him. Let the ‘Amen’ sound from his people again, gladly for ay we adore him. As the deer pants for the water
As the deer pants for the water, so my soul longs after you. You alone are my heart’s desire and I long to worship you.
You alone are my strength, my shield, to you alone may my spirit yield. You alone are my heart’s desire and I long to worship you.
I want you more than gold or silver, only you can satisfy. You alone are the real joy-giver and the apple of my eye.
You’re my friend and you are my brother, Even though you are a king. I love you more than any other, so much more than anything.
